Interceptor Plus is a prescribed chewable for your dog that prevents against heartworm disease. Unlike other medications, it also treats and protects against 4 other types of worms. Interceptor Plus is also administer with it's palatable chicken flavor and month-long protection.

Treatment with fewer than 6 monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Do not use in puppies less than six weeks old. Do not use in dogs or puppies last than two pounds of body weight.

Interceptor Plus should be administered orally, once every month, at the minimum dosage of 0.23 mg/lb (0.5 mg/kg) milbemycin oxime, and 2.28 mg/lb (5 mg/kg) praziquantel. For heartworm prevention, give once monthly for at least 6 months after exposure to mosquitoes

There are no known contraindications.
Vomiting, diarrhea, depression/lethargy, ataxia, anorexia, convulsions, weakness, and salivation.
Interceptor Plus should be administered in a manner that encourages your dog to chew, rather than swallow whole. However, we do not expect a difference in the effectiveness of the product if your dog consumes it whole.
Contact your veterinarian as soon as possible if you believe your dog has ingested more than the recommended dose of Interceptor Plus. In studies where dogs were dosed at one, three, or five times the maximum dosage, they exhibited signs consistent with avermectin toxicity that followed a dose-related pattern in respect to onset, incidence and duration. Clinical signs included ataxia, decreased activity, tremors, vomiting and salivation.
You may maintain normal activities and interactions with your dog.
Interceptor Plus is indicated to treat and control intestinal parasite infections of adult hookworms, roundworms, whipworms and tapeworms.* In occasional cases, it is possible that the action of Interceptor Plus in killing the intestinal worms will lead to the dog expelling them in stool. If you have questions, consult your veterinarian for measures you can take to prevent a reinfection of intestinal parasites.
