Atopica for Dogs is a prescription oral solution used to treat allergic dermatitis—a common skin condition in dogs caused by an overactive immune response to environmental allergens. This condition often leads to intense itching, redness, inflammation, and scaly skin. Atopica works by targeting the underlying cause of the allergic reaction, helping to reduce symptoms and improve your dog’s comfort and quality of life. By relieving persistent itching and irritation, Atopica helps reduce the urge to scratch, rub, or lick excessively.
Indicated for the control and long-term management of atopic dermatitis and associated symptoms in dogs.
Dogs 6 months of age or older, weighing at least 4 pounds.
Atopica contains cyclosporine, an immunosuppressive agent that selectively targets immune cells responsible for triggering allergic skin reactions. By modulating the immune response, it reduces inflammation and itching. Most dogs start with once-daily dosing, and many can transition to dosing every other day or even twice weekly for long-term control.
Cyclosporine – an immunosuppressant used to treat chronic allergic conditions and autoimmune disorders in dogs, such as atopic dermatitis.

The initial dose of Atopica for Dogs is 5 mg/kg/day (3.3–6.7 mg/kg/day) as a single daily dose for 30 days. Following this initial daily treatment period, the dose may be tapered by decreasing the frequency to every other day or twice weekly, until a minimum frequency is reached that maintains the desired therapeutic effect.
Atopica should be given at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. If a dose is missed, administer the next dose (without doubling) as soon as possible, but never more than once daily.

Atopica is contraindicated for use in dogs with a history of neoplasia. Do not use in dogs with a known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine.
Atopica (cyclosporine) is a systemic immunosuppressant and may increase the susceptibility to infections and the development of neoplasia.
Not for human use. Keep this and all medications out of reach of children.
There are many potential drug interactions. Inform your veterinarian of all medications your pet is currently taking. Administer Atopica at least one hour before or two hours after feeding.
If any serious side effects occur—such as difficulty breathing, facial swelling, or hives—stop administering Atopica and seek emergency veterinary care. Less serious side effects may include vomiting, soft stools or diarrhea, muscle cramps, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, or changes in hair coat. Consult your veterinarian about any symptoms that appear unusual or persistent.
