Description

RenaPlus is used to provide your pets with the potassium they need when they suffer from hypokalemia (low blood potassium). Low potassium levels are common in pets with kidney (renal) problems and can also occur because of other medical conditions.

Key Benefits

  • Comes in a gel form that is palatable
  • Offers support to nervous system and muscles
  • Offers support to renal health in dogs and cats

How It Works

RenaPlus Gel (potassium gluconate) prevents and treats the effects of potassium deficiency (hypokalemia) which can be one of the associated symptoms of kidney disease.

Indications

Potassium gluconate for use as a supplement in potassium-deficient states in cats and dogs.

Ingredients

Potassium Gluconate.

Directions

Each 2.34 g (1/2 teaspoon) contains 2 mEq (468 mg) of Potassium gluconate in a palatable base. The suggested dose of RenaPlus Gel for adult cats and dogs is 2.34 g (1/2 teaspoon) per 10 lbs (4.5 kg) body weight twice daily. Dosage may be adjusted to satisfy patient's need.

RenaPlus Gel is highly palatable. To initiate interest in taste, place small amount on the animal's nose or on the roof of its mouth. Gel may be placed on the paw after initial interest has been established.

  • All supplements are given by mouth preferably with food and the dosage is usually based on body weight.
  • If you do not understand how to give RenaPlus correctly, contact your veterinarian.

Pills can be cut in half!
March 12, 2021
After I give each half I squirt about 1 ml of water into my cat's mouth. Much easier than administering the entire pill.

An option I didn't know about-glad I got this gel!
July 5, 2016
Seems to be more palatable to my cat than the pills, so that is a plus. The pills were too large for her to swallow easily, and the gel is a good option so far.

October 27, 2015
According to the latest bloodwork my kitty had, her potassium levels are back in the normal range; I do credit this product with helping to do that.
