RenaPlus is used to provide your pets with the potassium they need when they suffer from hypokalemia (low blood potassium). Low potassium levels are common in pets with kidney (renal) problems and can also occur because of other medical conditions.

Key Benefits

  • Comes in a powder that tastes good to cats and dogs
  • Provides support of the nervous system and muscles
  • Helps provide renal health that is normal for dogs and cats

How It Works

Commonly known as potassium gluconate, RenaPlus Powder works by helping to treat and prevent potassium deficiency, known as hypokalemia. For animals with kidney disease, a potassium deficiency is a common symptom associated with the disease.

Potassium gluconate for use as a supplement in potassium-deficient states in cats and dogs.

Each 0.65 g (1/4 level teaspoon) contains a minimum:
Potassium Gluconate 2 mEq (468 mg)
in a palatable base

The suggested dose of RenaPlus for adult cats and dogs is 0.65 g (1/4 level teaspoon) per 10 lb (4.5 kg) body weight twice daily with food. Dosage may be adjusted to satisfy patient’s need.

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Use with caution in the presence of cardiac disease, particularly in digitalized patients or in the presence of renal disease.

Do not administer in diseases where high potassium levels may be encountered, such as severe renal insufficiency or adrenal insufficiency.

Store tightly closed container in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 35°C (95°F).

  • Safe and effective generic alternative to Tumil-K.
  • Available in multiple forms (powder, tablets, or gel) so it is easy to give to most pets.
  • Replenishes potassium levels for proper body function.
RenaPlus should help potassium levels in the blood and in the cells to return to normal. It can take several days to achieve normal potassium levels. RenaPlus usually needs to be given long-term in most cases.
  • RenaPlus should be given exactly according to your veterinarian's specific instructions.
  • All supplements are given by mouth preferably with food and the dosage is usually based on body weight.
  • If you do not understand how to give RenaPlus correctly, contact your veterinarian.
RenaPlus works to treat hypokalemia (low potassium levels) by providing a source of potassium in animals who cannot maintain normal levels on their own.
