Description

Apoquel (oclacitinib) Tablets for Dogs are a breakthrough treatment for allergic skin conditions that cause itching and inflammation in dogs. This prescription medication offers fast and effective relief, allowing your dog to enjoy a better quality of life without the discomfort of itching and inflammation.

The active ingredient in Apoquel, oclacitinib, works by targeting the underlying cause of itching and inflammation in allergic dermatitis. It inhibits the activity of certain enzymes that are involved in the inflammatory response, providing rapid relief from itching within 4 hours and effectively controlling itching within 24 hours.

Unlike traditional treatments for allergic skin conditions, such as steroids, which can have undesirable side effects, Apoquel is specifically designed to target the itch and inflammation without suppressing the entire immune system. This means that it can provide relief without compromising your dog's overall health and well-being.

Apoquel is available in tablet form, making it easy to administer to your dog. It can be given with or without food, and the dosage can be adjusted to suit your dog's needs. With Apoquel, you can help your dog find relief from itching and inflammation, allowing them to live a happier, more comfortable life.

Key Benefits:

  • Fast-Acting Relief: Apoquel starts relieving itching within 4 hours and effectively controls itching within 24 hours.
  • Targeted Relief: Targets the underlying cause of itching and inflammation to provide long-lasting relief.
  • Safe and Effective: FDA-approved for the control of itching associated with allergic dermatitis and the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs.
  • Easy to Administer: Available in tablet form, making it easy to give to your dog with or without food.

How It Works

Apoquel (oclacitinib) Tablets for Dogs work by targeting and inhibiting certain enzymes in the body that are involved in the itching and inflammation response associated with allergic skin conditions. Specifically, oclacitinib inhibits the activity of Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes, which play a key role in the inflammatory signaling pathway.

By inhibiting these enzymes, Apoquel helps to reduce the itchiness and inflammation caused by allergic dermatitis in dogs. This helps to provide fast relief from itching and discomfort, allowing dogs to feel more comfortable and improving their overall quality of life.

Apoquel is designed to provide targeted relief, addressing the underlying cause of itching and inflammation without suppressing the entire immune system. This makes it a safe and effective option for managing allergic skin conditions in dogs.

Indications

Apoquel (oclacitinib) Tablets for Dogs are indicated for the control of itching and inflammation associated with allergic dermatitis in dogs. It is also indicated for the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs.

FAQ

Yes, you can use APOQUEL for short periods. APOQUEL begins relieving allergic dog itch within 4 hours, and controls it within 24 hours.

Yes, APOQUEL may be used with other treatment such as:

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, carprofen)
  • Vaccines (rabies)
  • Allergen-specific immunotherapy (allergy shots or drops)

The use of APOQUEL has not been evaluated in combination with other systemic immunosuppressants, such as corticosteroids and cyclosporine.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not placed any time restrictions on the use of APOQUEL. Your dog can continue to be treated with APOQUEL as long as your veterinarian recommends. In a study, dogs were treated with APOQUEL for more than 2 years.
Yes, APOQUEL can be given with or without food.
APOQUEL is given twice daily for up to 14 days, and then given once daily for maintenance therapy.
APOQUEL starts relieving allergic itch within 4 hours of giving the treatment to your dog.
The most common side effects of APOQUEL in a short-term clinical trial were vomiting and diarrhea. These occurred in only a small percentage of dogs treated with APOQUEL. These side effects typically stopped on their own.
APOQUEL is a medication for dogs prescribed by a veterinarian for dogs 12 months of age or older to control the itch and inflammation associated with allergic and atopic dermatitis.
Occasional itching is a fact of life for dogs. However, allergies, fleas, mites, infection, and other diseases may cause more frequent or constant itching, indicating a more serious condition. If you notice your dog is itching more often, and/or you see changes in your dog's skin, including hot spots, redness, or rash, make an appointment to visit your veterinarian and get it checked out.
If your dog is scratching, licking, or biting the same area repeatedly, the skin can become damaged, red, and sore. It's a good idea to ask your dog's veterinarian about the possible causes. It could be due to allergies, and in this event, your pet may require a prescription treatment such as APOQUEL to treat the underlying cause. There also may be a skin infection that requires antibiotic or antifungal treatment from your veterinarian.
APOQUEL is not a steroid, antihistamine, or cyclosporine (a type of drug that reduces immune system activity). APOQUEL is in a different category of medications. Unlike other medicines, APOQUEL blocks allergic itch at the source. So, it works at the underlying cause of itch to provide relief fast.

If your dog's itching persists or you notice any of the following signs, you should make an appointment to visit your veterinarian to find out if the itching is caused by a medical condition:

  • Frequent scratching, licking, biting, or chewing
  • Excessive rolling, rubbing, or scooting
  • Recurrent ear problems (head shaking, ear discharge/odor, or scratching at ears)
  • Hair loss, body odor, or skin changes (such as rash, redness, greasy skin, or scabs)

Apoquel great, service not
October 18, 2024
The pills themselves are great and help with dog allergies. Service both times has been terrible. I’ve had to call, ask when they are contacting the vet, when they’ll be sent, etc. I get lame excuses each time. I don’t your company does anything with an order unless contacted. I ordered in plenty of time, but the pills took so long to get here I had to buy some from my vet at a high cost. Unreliability is not what I’m looking for in a pet pharmacy.
Pros
  • Apoquel,is reliable and these are a good price.
Cons
  • See about relating to service only.

I’ve ordered from several places & this site had the best price by far. I also appreciated being notified when attempts to contact my vet were going unanswered. I’m giving 4/5 stars only because I was not told I would need to sign for my purchase, so I missed the mailman and item was delayed until I was able to sign for at the post office

I’m very satisfied with using your prescription pharmacy. Process was very easy, great price and fast shipping. This was the first shipment and I hope it continues to be excellent. My veterinarian office staff recommended that I look online for better pricing and asked me were I buy my supplements. I told her Entirely pets. She then looked it up for me and said that they also have a pharmacy section.

My dog is allergic to just about anything except the air. If she doesn't have this medicine, she scratches herself until she has scabs. This is the only medicine so far that has stopped her itching, along with a fish and sweet potato dog food. Yes this is expensive, but it works! And Entirely Pets has the best price!
