Administration Guidelines

  • Inject subcutaneously (under the skin) behind the shoulder using a sterile 16-gauge, ½" to ¾" needle.
  • Use only automatic syringe equipment for 500 mL and 1000 mL pack sizes.
  • Sanitize the injection site with a suitable disinfectant and use sterile, disinfected needles to reduce the risk of infection.
  • For volumes over 10 mL, divide the dose between two injection sites to reduce discomfort.
  • Viscosity increases in cold temperatures; warm the product and equipment to 15°C (59°F) if needed.
  • Use within 28 days of first puncture and do not puncture more than 14 times.

Animal Safety

When used at recommended doses, ivermectin and clorsulon had no effect on the breeding performance of bulls and cows.

Warnings

  • NOT FOR HUMAN USE. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use in female dairy cattle of breeding age or in calves intended for veal.
  • Contact Bimeda, Inc. at 1-888-524-6332 to report adverse reactions or request the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Residue Warning

  • Do not slaughter cattle within 21 days of treatment.
  • Do not use in dairy cattle of breeding age or in pre-ruminating calves.
  • Do not use in calves processed for veal.

Precautions

  • Temporary swelling or discomfort may occur at the injection site.
  • Use different injection sites when administering other injectable products.
  • Use in cattle only. Do not use in other species—fatal reactions may occur in dogs.
  • Do not administer intravenously or intramuscularly.
  • California: Restricted Drug – Use Only as Directed.

Timing for Grub Treatment

For effective grub control, administer Vetrimec Plus as soon as possible after the end of heel fly (warble fly) season. Killing Hypoderma lineatum near the esophagus may cause bloat; killing Hypoderma bovis in the vertebral canal may cause paralysis. These reactions can occur with any successful grub treatment. Consult your veterinarian for proper timing.

Cattle treated after grub migration may require re-treatment later in the season with ivermectin to control internal parasites or lice without grub-related risks.

Storage Instructions

  • Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
  • Protect from light.
