NutraLife PET SAMe is an exogenous form of S-Adenosyl-Methionine offered as a supplement. SAMe contributes to better pet health through chemical processes including: transmethylation, transsulfuration, and aminopropylation which can affect the liver, joint, and mood health in animals.

SAMe improves phospholipids production during the process of transmethylation, which promotes better bile flow through the liver's cell membranes.

Through a process called transsulfuration, SAMe is converted into glutathione, a potent antioxidant and liver detoxifier. The liver can acquire from methionine in common pet foods, however your pet's body may not process enough SAMe on its own due to old age, insufficient diet, or other inhibiting reasons. Using NutraLife Pet's SAMe will help this imbalance.

SAMe plays a critical role to produce methylthioadenosine (MTA) during the called aminopropylation. MTA supports cartilage matrix production in joints, and may help maintain the effectiveness of proteoglycans. Proteoglycans are molecules that are critical for lubricating joints.

It has been reported that animals on a SAMe regimen have gained improved appetite, activity and attitude.

SAMe has been proven to be very safe, and there are usually no side effects if it is given correctly. Vomiting may occur in rare instances. Consult your veterinarian if you notice any changes in your pet's condition or behavior.

SAMe should be protected from heat, humidity and moisture (i.e. do not store in the bathroom).Do not remove the tablet from the blister pack until you are ready to administer it to your pet. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

For maximum absorption, SAMe should be given on an empty stomach. (Optimal times are first thing in the morning, one hour before a meal, or three hours after a meal.) Do not break the tablets. If swallowing is a concern, pet owners may conceal the tablet in small pieces of moist food.

Trouble swallowing may cause throat irritation in pets. Therefore, give your pet water after administering SAMe tablets to help your pet swallow.

If you miss a dose, administer the dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the nest dose, skip the missed dose and return to the regular schedule. Do not give a double dose..

Dosage may be gradually decreased or increased as symptoms improve or as recommended by your veterinarian.

Do not dispense SAMe to animals that are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients in this product.

If your pet exhibits signs of allergic reaction (i.e. facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma), contact your veterinarian immediately. Inform your veterinarian if your pet is taking any prescription medications or other dietary supplements while taking SAMe.
