Description

Primary IV Set for Pets is a sterile, primary IV administration set 72 inch is used to administer fluids intravenously or subcutaneously from a fluid bag or container. Piercing Spike can be easily inserted into all infusion containers. The smooth surface reduces the risk of rubber abrasion during insertion. Integrated Bacteria Proof Air Vent in closed position works on non-vented collapsible IV bags. Accurate Drop Former helps form even, large drops for the required drop rates. Drip rate is 20 drops per ml. Soft elastic tubing assures an easy setting of the roller clamp. Air bubbles can be easily detected through the transparent tubing. Precision Roller Clamp provides a reliable setting of the infusion. The Luer Connector Latex Injection Piece ensures the hygienic injection of drugs. For Veterinary Use Only

How It Works

IV therapy (intravenous therapy) involves directly infusing liquid substances into veins. Intravenous means "within the vein."

Directions

  1. Close clamp
  2. Remove cover from spike and insert into solution container and suspend
  3. Squeeze drip container until approximately one-third full
  4. Open clamp and flush tubing of all air
  5. Close clamp
  6. Attach luer adapter to venipuncture device
  7. Open clamp and regulate flow by adjusting roller clamp

Precautions:

When IV tubing is stretched or tugged, all manual flow control clamps may lose flow control effectiveness. Change at least every 96 hours.

Cheap IV set (not in a good way)
April 20, 2016
The tubing is less rubbery and flexible than others I've bought elsewhere, and it mysteriously accumulates lots of bubbles every time you blink. Sure, that's a mild exaggeration, but I spent far, far longer trying to get bubbles out of these lines every time I gave fluids. Add to that the fact that I assumed it would be luer lock (based on the photo), but it's luer slip, and the whole thing just feels flimsy. I should have read the description more closely because it does say luer slip, despite not having an accurate photo. I hope not to encounter this brand again.
ProsDidn't leak.
ConsLuer slip feels less secure than luer lock to me, and this thing attracts bubbles like flames attract moths.
