Stiff Joints is a painful condition
There are two major forms of stiff joints. Stiff Joints is a common form of stiff joints which involves inflammation of the joints, swelling, pain, and loss of function. The primary symptom of rheumatoid stiff joints is inflammation of the synovial membrane. The membrane thickens and synovial fluid accumulates. The resulting pressure causes pain and tenderness.

The most common form of stiff joints is a degenerative joint disease that is far more common than stiff joints. It is characterized by the deterioration of articular cartilage and the formation of new bone in the subchondral areas and at the margins of the joint. The cartilage slowly degenerates and as the bone ends become exposed, small bumps of new osseous tissue are deposited on them. These bumps decrease the space in the bone cavity and restrict joint movement.

    Phycocyanin
It has been discovered that a blue-green algae extract and, more particularly, phycocyanin functions as a COX-2 inhibitor that is effective in treating stiff joints and other inflammatory conditions in animals. The use of phycocyanin is now patented and effective in reducing inflammation in animals through its ability to selectively inhibit the COX-2 enzyme.

Our buddy had an unfortunate accident at 5 months old that necessitated surgery and a LONG recovery. Being a puppy full of adventure... he jumped down our steps missing 4 of them. It was a hard landing, and he broke his knee in 3 places! He had surgery, 2 pins were put in, he received PT and laser treatments for several months. He needs to be on a supplement to address arthritis in that damaged area for the rest of his life!Having ulcerative colitis complicates and limits our choices of products. Highly recommend!!!!
    Pros
    • Phycox has a Hydrolyzed (HA) formula which agrees with his digestion.
    • We "treat" him with it every day.
    • This has provided him with greater ease and mobility!!!

My vet recommended Phycox Max joint chews several years ago. My golden retriever has taken them daily since. She gets one right after her morning feeding and barks at me if she thinks I have forgotten. She is 12 years old now and moves around better than most dogs her age.

I have 4 dogs on Phycox chews, so buying a triple bundle of canisters works well for me! And I love giving the joint treats to my other foster dogs to keep their joints healthy - what a great bonus! Entirely Pets has great prices & I really like the auto shipping feature.

    Phycocyanin is Key
    June 16, 2017
I tried the Doctors Foster and Smith Premium Joint treatment which contained similar ingredients MINUS the phycocyanin. Even after several months my Lab continued to favor his front shoulder. My vet gave me Phycox and the limp vanished. I switched back and the pain soon reappeared. So now my old buddy is back on Phycox and he is doing well without any apparent discomfort. An additional plus was the price at Entirely Pets which was more the $10 less than I could find elsewhere.

    • Works well. Great price.
