Dosage

The dosage for Panacur Equine Dewormer varies depending on use. Refer to the dosage table for dosage recommendations.

Some parasites require dosing for 5 consecutive days with a concentration of 4.6 mg/lb. These parasites include:

  • Early third stage cyathastome larvae
  • Fourth stage cyathastome larvae
  • Fourth stage larvae of S. vulgaris

Administration

Before adminstration, weigh the horse to ensure proper dosage. Also make sure the horse does not have food in its mouth

  1. Remove the syringe tip.
  2. Turn the dial ring until it is zeroed on the handle's scale
  3. Depress the plunger until the tip is filled with paste. The syringe is now zeroed and the correct dosage can be set.
  4. Set the dial ring to the weight of the horse. Be sure not to underdose.
  5. Apply Panacur dewormer paste in spaces between teeth and the back of the tongue.

Precautions

Side effects associated with Panacur® (fenbendazole) Paste 10% could not be established with higher concentraiondoses. Side effects could not be established with extended dosage lengths longer than 5 days.

Panacur (fenbendazole) Paste 10% has not been evaluated for safety in stallions or pregnant mares for the control of 4th stage larvae of Strongylus vulgaris with the administration of 4.6 mg/lb (10 mg/kg) daily for 5 consecutive days.
