Description

Osurnia is formulated for dogs to help treat otitis externa an infection of the ear canal better known as swimmer's ears in humans. While there are many causes for otitis externa in dogs, Osurnia is designed to help your pal feel better. It applies like a liquid and stays like a gel, which penetrates deep. It's built to coat and adhere to the entire ear canal, increasing contact time at the infection site. Osurnia even works with your canine companion's natural ear cleaning process and is gradually removed over time.

Key Features

  • Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory
  • Treats ear infections
  • Alcohol-free gel
  • Gentle on dog's ears
  • Comes in convenient premeasured single-dose tubes

How It Works

Osurnia's gel formulation coats and adheres to the entire ear canal and remains in place to fight otitis externa for up to 45 days by naturally dissolving in ear wax. Florfenicol, one of the ingredients, prevents the growth of bacteria. Terbinafine is an antifungal, which prevents the growth of fungi, and betamethasone acetate exhibits anti-inflammatory activity.

Indications

OSURNIA is indicated for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs associated with susceptible strains of bacteria (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius) and yeast (Malassezia pachydermatis).

Directions

View Osurnia Drug Facts Sheet.

OSURNIA should be administered in the clinic. Clean and dry the external ear canal before administering the initial dose of the product. Administer one dose (1 tube) per affected ear(s) and repeat administration in 7 days.

Do not clean the ear canal for 45 days after the initial administration to allow contact of the gel with the ear canal. Cleaning the ear may affect product effectiveness (see Effectiveness). If alternative otic therapies are required it is recommended to clean the ear(s) before application.

Open tube by twisting the soft tip. Insert the flexible tip into the affected external ear canal(s) and squeeze entire tube contents into the external ear canal(s). After application, gently massage the base of the ear to allow the gel to penetrate to the lower part of the ear canal.
