Drontal Plus is a broad-spectrum dewormer used in dogs to treat tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.

How It Works
Drontal contains active ingredients praziquantel, pyrantel pamoate and febantel. Praziquantel works by damaging the parasite's skin internally, so the parasite disintegrates and is removed by the pet's immune system. Pyrantel pamoate is active against hookworms and ascarids and acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, causing sudden contraction, followed by paralysis. This results in the hookworm losing its grip in the intestinal wall and is removed from the pets system by natural process. Febantel is active against nematode parasites including whipworms.

Dosage
The presence of parasites should be confirmed by laboratory fecal examination. Weigh the dog before treatment. Administer the proper dosage as specified in the following table as a single oral treatment.Administration
Drontal Plus Tablets have been developed for oral administration. Tablets may be given by mouth or offered in a small amount of food. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended prior to or after treatment.
Because humans can contract tapeworm from animals, it is important to take strict hygienic precautions. It is also important to eliminate fleas on the pet and the household and not to feed the pet rodents or uncooked meat or fish. To prevent reinfection, daily clean up of stools is recommended.

- Drontal Plus is given as a single dose.
- Do not give Drontal Plus to your pet if you are already giving another dewormer medication unless directed to by your veterinarian.

Storage Directions
Drontal Plus Tablets should be stored at controlled room temperatures between 59°-86°F (15°-30°C). Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects of Drontal Plus are rare but may include vomiting, loss of appetite or diarrhea. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to the animal.
