Cerenia Tablets for Dogs (maropitant citrate) are the first and only FDA-approved oral medication recommended by veterinarians to help prevent and treat vomiting caused by motion sickness in dogs. These tablets are scored for easy, accurate dosing and are a trusted solution for travel-related nausea. As many as 1 in 5 dogs experience motion sickness, making Cerenia the go-to antiemetic for car rides, vet visits, and travel days.
Cerenia is an antiemetic that works by blocking substance P, a neurotransmitter in the brain responsible for triggering vomiting. The active ingredient, maropitant citrate, is a neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptor antagonist that effectively controls both acute vomiting and nausea caused by motion sickness, making it an ideal travel companion for dogs.
