Canine Spectra 5 Vaccine is a 5-way core immunization designed to protect healthy puppies and adult dogs against five highly contagious and potentially life-threatening viral diseases. This combination vaccine includes modified-live strains of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV), Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2) for cross-protection against CAV-1 (infectious canine hepatitis), Canine Parainfluenza Virus (CPIV), and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b (CPV-2b).

Canine Spectra 5 Dosage and Administration: Administer 1 mL by intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection. Use aseptic technique and prepare the injection site with antiseptic. To reconstitute, inject the provided diluent into the vial containing the freeze-dried vaccine cake. Shake well before drawing the entire contents into the syringe.
Administration Instructions
- Subcutaneous Injection (SC): Gently lift the loose skin behind the neck or forelimb. Insert the needle under the skin and inject the full contents of the syringe. Avoid direct injection into blood vessels.
- Intramuscular Injection (IM): Insert the needle into the muscle of the hind limb and administer the full dose. Avoid intravascular injection.
Vaccination Schedule
- Puppies under 9 weeks: Begin at 6 weeks of age. Administer at 3–4 week intervals until at least 16 weeks old (minimum 3 doses).
- Puppies over 9 weeks & Adult Dogs: Administer a minimum of 2 doses, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
- Booster: Annual revaccination with a single 1 mL dose is recommended.
Precautions
- Always pull back on the plunger after needle insertion to check for blood. If blood appears, choose a new injection site.
- Use only sterile equipment and avoid contamination during vaccine preparation and administration.
- This vaccine is intended for healthy dogs and puppies only. Do not use in sick, immunocompromised, or stressed animals.
Storage Instructions
- Store between 35°F – 45°F (2°C – 7°C).
- Do not freeze. Protect from direct sunlight.
- Use entire contents immediately after reconstitution.
