Description

Vitamin B-12 Injection for use in Vitamin B-12 deficiency associated with cobalt deficiency in cattle and sheep and for Vitamin B-12 deficiency associated with inadequate Vitamin B-12 intake or intestinal malabsorption in swine and horses. For use in cattle, sheep, swine, horses, dogs and cats.

Cyanocobalamin Injectable is prescription Vitamin B12 used in the treatment of Vitamin B12 deficiencies as well as certain types of anemia. It may also be prescribed for certain cobalt deficiencies, certain pancreatic diseases or intestinal malabsorption conditions. Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin necessary for the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. A deficiency of Vitamin B12 can lead to advanced anemia where the red cells are fewer in number but are larger than normal (macrocytic). Injectable form available only. This injectable form of Vitamin B12 may be given subcutaneously (subQ, under the skin) or intramuscularly (IM, into the muscle).

Certain health conditions could cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Supplementing with injectable B12 helps treat these low levels and improve your pet's health.

Indications

For use as a supplemental nutritive source of vitamin B12 in cattle, horses, swine, sheep, dogs and cats.

Directions

Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly. May be injected intravenously at the discretion of theveterinarian.

Dogs/Cats - 0.25 to 0.5 mL.

Horses, Cattle, Swine and Sheep - 1 to 2 mL.

Caution:

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Precautions:

No contraindications are documented for injectable use in domestic animals.
