Oxytet for Chicken, Turkey & Swine - Soluble (Oxytetracycline HCl) 1772gm (1 packet) - [Antibiotic]

Oxytet soluble contains oxytetracycline hydrochloride, a broad spectrum antibiotic for use in cattle, sheep, swine, and poultry for the control of specific diseases susceptible to oxytetracycline HCI.

Oxytet works effectively against bacterial enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and Salmonella choleraesuis, as well as bacterial pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida, susceptible to oxytetracycline.

Additionally in breeding swine, Oxytet soluble antibiotic powder is used for the treatment of Leptospirosis (reducing the incidence of abortions and shedding of leptospira) caused by Leptospira pomona, susceptible to oxytetracycline.

Indication:

• Chicken - for the control of infectious synovitis (Mycoplasma synoviae/MS) and CRD (chronic respiratory disease) and air sac infection (M. gallisepticum.MG); also for the control of colibacillosis (E. coli) and Fowl cholera (Pasteurella multocida)
• Growing Turkeys - for the control of complicating bacterial organisms associated with bluecomb (transmissible enteritis.coronaviral enteritis)
• Turkeys - for the control of hexamitiasis (Hexamita meleagridis) and infectious synovitis (M.synoviae)
• Swine - to control and treat bacterial enteritis E.coli and Salmonella Cholerasuis) and bacterial pneumonia (P.multocida)
• Breeding Swine - To control and treat leptospirosis Leptospira pomona) and thereby reduce the incidence of abortions and shedding of spirochetes

*All of the above organisms must be susceptible to tetracycline for effective treatment.

Mix fresh solutions daily. Use as the sole source of drinking water. Do not mix this product directly with milk or milk replacer. Administer 1 hour before or 2 hours after feeding milk or milk replacer. Consult a poultry diagnostic laboratory or poultry pathologist for diagnosis and advice on dosage for chickens and turkeys. As a generalization, 200 chickens will drink 1 gallon of water per day for each week of age. Turkeys will consume twice that amount. Administer up to 5 days to swine and 7 to 14 days for chickens and turkeys.

Note: The concentration of drug required in medicated water must be adequate to compensate for variation in the age of the animal, feed consumption rate, and the environmental temperatures and humidity, each of which affects water consumption.

Proportioner Mixing Instructions:

Add the following amount of Oxytet Soluble to one gallon of water to make a stock solution for proportioner set to meter at the rate of one ounce per gallon.

Do not use in birds producing eggs for human consumption.

Each package size when mixed with the volume of water listed below makes treatment solutions with the corresponding oxytetracycline HCI concentrations. See above for indications and use levels.
