K-BroVet-CA1 is a veterinary prescription medication containing potassium bromide (KBr), formulated to help manage and control seizures in dogs. It is commonly used as a long-term treatment for epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
K-BroVet-CA1 is indicated for the management of seizures in dogs. It is especially beneficial for dogs with idiopathic epilepsy or when other medications alone are not effective.
Potassium bromide works by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain. It enhances the action of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that calms nervous system activity. This reduces the likelihood and severity of seizures.
Due to its long half-life, potassium bromide builds up in the bloodstream and offers consistent seizure control with once- or twice-daily dosing.
Always consult your veterinarian before starting or adjusting seizure medications.
