Description
Equine Potomavac Neorickettsia Risticii Bacterin - protect your horse against Potomac Horse Fever with Equine Potomavac, a trusted vaccine formulated to help prevent disease caused by Neorickettsia risticii.
This 1 mL single-dose bacterin vaccine provides essential protection for horses at risk of exposure
to this potentially fatal gastrointestinal disease.
Key Features:
- Effective Immunization: Formulated using inactivated Neorickettsia risticii,
Potomavac® stimulates the horse’s immune response to help protect against Potomac Horse Fever (PHF),
a serious and potentially deadly illness often associated with warm-weather months and freshwater environments.
- Safe and Trusted: Manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim, a leader in equine health, this vaccine
has a demonstrated safety profile when used as directed in healthy horses.
- Single-Dose Convenience: Each pre-measured 1 mL dose ensures easy administration and accurate dosing,
ideal for individual use or maintaining a scheduled vaccination protocol.
- Intramuscular Administration: Designed for intramuscular injection by or under the supervision of
a licensed veterinarian.
- Recommended for Annual Vaccination: Veterinarians generally recommend annual boosters, particularly
in regions where PHF is endemic or during peak transmission periods.
Indications:
Equine Potomavac is indicated for the vaccination of healthy horses 3 months of age or older against
Neorickettsia risticii, the causative agent of Potomac Horse Fever. PHF symptoms can include fever, depression,
colic, diarrhea, and laminitis, and the disease can be fatal if left untreated.
