Description
BOVI-SHIELD GOLD 5 is a modified-live virus used for the vaccination of healthy cattle to help prevent disease caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus, bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) Types 1a, 1b, and 2 viruses, parainfluenza 3 (PI3) virus, and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV).
- Broad Respiratory Protection: Guards against IBR, BVD Types 1 & 2, PI3, and BRSV in healthy cattle.
- Modified Live Virus Formula: Promotes a strong and long-lasting immune response.
- Safe for Breeding Cattle: Can be used in pregnant cows and nursing calves when previously vaccinated as directed.
- Flexible Administration: Suitable for both subcutaneous and intramuscular injection routes.
- Long Duration of Immunity: Provides protection for at least 9 months against certain viruses.
Ingredients
- Modified Live Viruses:
- Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus
- Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) Virus Type 1
- Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) Virus Type 2
- Parainfluenza3 (PI3) virus
- Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV)
- Sterile Diluent: Provided for proper reconstitution of the vaccine before administration.
Directions
- Preparation: Rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the accompanying sterile diluent using aseptic technique. Shake well before use.
- Dosage: Administer a single 2 mL dose via subcutaneous or intramuscular injection in the neck region.
- Primary Vaccination: For use in healthy cattle. Calves vaccinated before 6 months of age should be revaccinated after 6 months or at weaning.
- Revaccination: Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended to maintain immunity.
- Pregnant Cattle: Only use in pregnant cows or calves nursing pregnant cows if they were previously vaccinated within the last 12 months with Bovi-Shield GOLD FP or PregGuard GOLD FP vaccines.
- Heifer Protocol: For use in pregnant heifers, administer at least two doses of an approved vaccine, with the second dose given approximately 30 days before breeding.
