Description

Mycophenolate Mofetil is a medication prescribed to suppress the immune system for the treatment of several different diseases, inflammation of the kidney, muscle fatigue, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS) and various autoimmune diseases. It's most commonly used in the cases of transplants and autoimmune disorders, where the body produces antibodies against itself. Veterinarians may use this medication to treat companion animals.

Key Benefits

  • Can be used in immune system suppression
  • Ideal treatment to prevent rejection after organ transplant
  • Can also be used for dogs experiencing immune mediated hemolytic anemia

How It Works

Mycophenolate Mofetil is an immune system suppression drug. That means it decreases certain cell activity that are part of the immune system. This helps to reduce risks associated with the rejection of an organ transplant.

Indications

Indicated for the treatment of multiple conditions and disorders that would benefit from immune-system suppression, such as inflammation of the kidney, muscle fatigue, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS) and various autoimmune diseases; it also may be prescribed to prevent organ donation rejection.

Directions

Use this medication as directed by your veterinarian.

Precautions:

Mycophenolate should only be used with close supervision from a doctor.
