Description

Cytopoint is prescribed for dogs with atopic dermatitis to help reduce scratching, chewing, licking and biting at the skin. When the itch is controlled, the damaged skin can heal, so that you and your dog have a chance to enjoy the fun things in life again.

It is an innovative new therapy that targets itch at its source to help relieve the signs of atopic dermatitis in dogs for a month or longer with a single injection.

Medical Use

Cytopoint aids in the reduction of clinical signs associated with atopic dermatitis in dogs.

Key Benefits

  • Helps control itch for 4-8 weeks.
  • Works after a single injection.

How It Works

Cytopoint remains in circulation for several weeks. It exerts a therapeutic effect by binding to and neutralizing soluble IL-31, thus inhibiting pruritus and reducing skin lesions. Like other naturally-occurring antibodies and antibody-antigen complexes, elimination is via normal protein degradation pathways.

Precautions

  1. The product does not have a preservative. Each vial is for single use only, and should be discarded after puncture.
  2. This product is intended for subcutaneous use only.
  3. Store upright at 2° - 8° C. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures and/or direct sunlight may adversely affect potency. Do not freeze.
  4. Use entire contents when first opened.
  5. Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this product. Do notsterilize with chemicals because traces of disinfectant may inactivate the product.
  6. This product has not been tested in pregnant, lactating or breeding animals.

For use by, or under the supervision of, a veterinarian.

Prescription Required

Due to Cytopoint's need to be kept between 2° - 8° C, it must be shipped Express 1-2 days. Express shipping fees are an additional $29.95. Someone should be present to sign for and receive the order because of its sensitive condition. For more shipping info click here.

Sir Percy/Lord Percy had a royal itch!
August 21, 2019
Percy our Kack Russell/Chi mix has had an allergic itch for some time. The best thing we've tried are the Cytopoint injections. They last about 3 mos. which is pretty good and a great relief for the lil 'Hund', lol! Taking him back for the second installment.
Cheers!

My dogs reaction to medicine.
February 18, 2019
Caution up front in giving the shot. This medicine burns going in and last about 1 minute. So your dogs will probably react to it mine did. My vet help me with the first shot since I've never given one before, but forgot to tell me it burns going in. Too a few days for the medicine to get thur her system. This is the first time in over a year that I've not seen her try to scratch herself to death. It WORKS and I'm so happy for both of us, especially for her. Great product thankful that it's in my pocket range that I can get it for her and my vet works with me on the script instead getting it himself and overcharging me for it. Thanks
